Protected players

I have described the main rigging methods the game uses to con out money from majority of players. But not all are equal in the eyes of WOT and don’t get cheated┬álike us, mere mortals, ordinary players. It makes great business sense for Wargaming to have some groups of players that are above the others. The game needs to please some people for various reasons. I propose that there are groups of so called protected players that will get excellent matchmaking all the time. Of course, the real implementation of that hypothetical list is probably different to what I present here, but it should look more or less like this:

  • VIP users (e.g. a journalist from a well known computer magazine or a son of a Russian oil oligarch)
  • WOT associates (e.g. a paid forum troll or a select member of WOT developing team)
  • Value users (users that spend hundreds of euros a month to the game)
  • Everybody else (non-paying AND premium users) will all get equally cheated by the game.

There *may* be one additional category: truly skilled players who get mostly good teams because, as such, they are useful instruments for the rigging (see Masters and servants, Unbalanced teams).
